"bob and edith’s is a regional, greasy spoon. they are open 24 hours. everyone sits themselves when they are full, they do not take their names down to make a list they wait in the line until a table is free, then they go and claim it. I had risen at 11:30 on Sunday, and as expected it was crowded. we had a short waiting time, but within 15 minutes. for what it is, everything went well. it was clean, we have our order in quite fast, and eating was served a bit fast and was decently delicious. our server was attentive and our coffee and water regularly refilled. my over light eggs were simply cooked. that was my first time at a bob and edith’s I’m not out of the opposite and I would go back to try more from their menu. I was too busy for dessert, but I hope to fix it soon. for the price and how everything went, it was good enough! a delicious breakfast meal in a crowded, loud and clean diner."

Bob and Edith is a reliable breakfast joint. All the food was as expected, good and the side of salsa was a nice add. My only complaint is that the Grits would not pass the test and was a little bit off. Very attentive staff and busy.

I understand the economy but how is this 8oz. Where is the medium rare? This is the second time that I've ordered this meal from them with completely different results. You shouldn't ask what temperature a steak is desired if it isn't delivered.

We had a great dining experience at this restaurant. The food was delicious, well portioned, hot, and served promptly. The staff were friendly and attentive, especially our server Anjel. Even though it was a bit loud, we still enjoyed our time there and would definitely recommend it. View menu

We’ve always loved the Bob Ediths in Springfield and we just moved to the Alexandria area and decided to give the one on Richmond Hwy a try. Everything was packaged well and looked great. Until I started to dig into my omelette. I mean…. I know weekends are busy but come on! Eggs with a side of parchment paper? Gross! It was a shame because the omelette before I got to the paper was really good. Hopefully just a one time issue?

I thoroughly enjoy having breakfast and brunch at diners, and once again Bob Edith's did not disappoint. I decided to order the steak and eggs, and the thin cut rib was cooked perfectly to a medium temperature. My friend, who is particular about her eggs, ordered the 2 egg plate with bacon and hash browns and was very pleased. Our server, Angel, was attentive and efficient. To top off the meal, I made sure to order a piece of pancake and some ice cream.

The first impression of the diner was spotless and clean. Our server was excellent. After getting off the train at Alexandria, Virginia Amtrak station, my wife and I decided to rent a car to explore and find a hearty dinner. We were heading towards Baltimore for late evening dining when we spotted Bob and Edith's Diner on the side of the road. Intrigued, we decided to stop. Our server answered our menu questions in detail and we ordered the hamburger deluxe and a few specials listed on the chalkboard. My wife went with the fried chicken. The food at this gem of a diner in Huntington, Virginia was hot, fresh, and delicious. We even bought a t-shirt to take home as a souvenir. Thank you Bob an... View menu

"This place really helped me adjust. I later learned that people gravitate towards certain bars, and I found my favorites, especially those with live music like Birchmere, Black Cat, 9:30 Club, Lincoln, Capital One Arena, and even the now-closed O'Shaughnessy's and Rock & Roll Hotel. One of my most memorable experiences was running into Rory Sheridan on one of my first visits. He was launching his DC music campaign back then and was part of Loud Boyz. We chatted a few times, and I even caught up with some old classmates. Another highlight was when I heard about a “reunion” night before Thanksgiving, and I decided to crash it. There were moments where people could be unkind or I felt out of place, but I was given some guidance on where I would fit in better, without the unnecessary drama. Being in Old Town, I was familiar with nearby schools like West Potomac, Mount Vernon, and Bishop Ireton. During my visits, I would often take an Alexandria cab or use Metro Access, being discreet about my disability since I felt embarrassed at times. Being a regular meant navigating the tourist scene, and there were people who seemed territorial about the place, but I ended up doing quite well when I sold my house. Good times continued with events like watching RG3 play for the Redskins or meetups organized by JT. I enjoyed New Year’s celebrations and weekend outings. I also frequented other establishments like Flying Fish before it closed, and O'Shaughnessy's before I decided to stop drinking. This is a sports bar located near a bicycle shop, close to the Ben & Jerry's I used to work at, along with many other walkable bars for bar hopping, like Union Street Pub and Fish Market. It can be a great place to have fun, but with the good comes some downsides. Overall, I felt well-hosted and respected here, despite some things I was not initially aware of or didn’t want to uncover."
