"I've dined at many beach restaurants, from Shore Birds in Honolulu, HI to Nikki Beach Club in Miami Beach, FL. However, whenever we visit Grand Lake in Oklahoma, we always make a stop at Ozzie's on Monkey Island. It's said you could drive there, but we prefer to arrive by boat and tie up at the free docks. This place is incredibly kid-friendly, with sand brought in for what they call "Yard Apes" to play in after dinner. When the weather is pleasant, we enjoy dining on the deck under the trees where the staff takes excellent care of you. I particularly love the Greesie Cheesie, a giant cheeseburger that we usually share. Ozzie's is the perfect spot to take everyone after a lazy day on the lake, all without breaking the bank or having to dress up for one of those pretentious places that require a shirt. Unfortunately, there's some sad news: on September 6th, 2014, Ozzie's will be auctioned off to the highest bidder. They'll be open through the month of September, so make sure to visit and enjoy this little slice of paradise while you can!"

The bacon pizza is dare I say— is like the adult version of Imos pizza. Crispy thin crust pizza with provel cheese. I returned my meal and and it was comped. I was grateful. Out of everything we tried, the pizza really stole the show! View menu

I've been visiting this restaurant for years, and the pizzas are fantastic! Most of the other dishes are pretty good too. My favorite is their Pepper Burger. The only downside is that the service tends to be a bit slow. The photo shows the Pepper Burger, which they coat by pressing both sides onto a tray of crushed peppercorns before grilling it. If you order this delicious burger, you should definitely be a fan of pepper!

This is a quick and convenient spot to grab a burger and fries on Monkey Island. The food is pretty standard for a lakeside eatery—decent enough to keep you fueled for a day on the water. Honestly, I probably come here more for its convenience since it’s close to where I stay rather than out of a strong preference for the food. Be sure to check their hours before visiting, as they change throughout the season. You can access the place by car or boat. The atmosphere is definitely enjoyable for a leisurely lunch, but if you look around, you’ll find better burger options. Give it a try and see what you think!
