"salty and needs some taste. the best thing I can say about eating here was that it was edible and the portions were decent. it was much over price for quality. the spring rollers are not spring rollers, but reamers and not good. they were salted a lot and so bland. the faggot on the nachos was a part of the worst-drawn pig I've ever had. the chips that came with the nachos were so salty that it was hard to try something else that was on them. the artichoke dimmer was the worst we tried, and the chips were again so salty that it was hard to taste everything through the salt mountain. the truffle friars were surprisingly really good and if they were forced to eat here with friends, I would recommend them. the service was decent and the location is great. we sat outside and it was absolutely beautiful, too bad eating was so disappointing. also, be ready to pay for tiny pitcher of the beer."

fischtaks. it tasted as if it came from the floor of an aquarium, there with a party of 20. before all the guests arrived workers took 2 of our chairs and brought razors.

I can't do enough! ahi tuna poke, spam musubi there is what I get every time. I love both. I'm here several times, I introduced every friend I can to this fantastic atmosphere. I wish them a lot of luck in the world. I promise to spread the word further!

I can't judge eating because we didn't get one. we ordered drinks, the waitress spilled all my pants, and even though they brought me a drink, they wanted to invite us to him anyway. When they wanted to use my new pants with a drink, I thought they rented it. we were there on a Friday night, the place was empty. we paid the register card and decided to look for dinner elsewhere. Strange. Outside seating was beautiful. Most of the inside was used as a play room for children but you could sit at the bar inside. They need to hope for an endless summer. Service was very poor, lets get cousin, there's someone on the property kind of deal. If you enjoy mounds of white rice with no sauce, this is your place, Ribs were full of fat and gristle. Didn't have the idea of how to run a restaurant. Won't think of returning.

Food is good, bartenders bad. I've been here a few times, and always enjoy the food. But tonight I'm at the outdoor bar, came here to hear live music, and the bartender (Matt) first turned off the radio, then turned it back on. I told him I'm here to listen to the band and he only turned the volume a little lower. Very irritating hearing both the live music and the radio. This is after he didn't know the difference between an IPA and pale ale. View menu

Remember Jackson's Bar Grille ? It didn't last long. In its spot is Tropics Restaurant and Bar a restaurant that has a Hawaiian theme. This is the third restaurant I've known of in that location since I moved to Morgantown. I can only assume it doesn't do very well because of the location and how it's hidden all the way at the back 2500 Cranberry Square. But my experience at this place was the best of the locations, yet, so hopefully it breaks the curse. Walking in, it looks similar to the other places with some light-colored wood and nice fixtures. It's clean, classy and looks like the interior probably cost a pretty penny. Tropics has added some Hawaiian-themed photos and...read more

"Went here as a group of 14 after a WVU graduate school ceremony. We arrived around 3:30 so not super busy. Seated fairly quickly but had to juggle who sat where as booth seating on the one side of our table left many sitting chest high at the table. Received all our orders and drinks quickly. Mixed frozen drinks at $12 each, racked up our bill rapidly. ORDER with caution and don't assume anything is included..steak fries were charged an extra $2.50 even on meals that came with fries(we were asked if we wanted curly or steak fries not knowing steak fries were extra..chips and dip comes with mango salsa OR queso..we ordered 2-one with each -but the server suggested we get both with each..we figured ok would just be smaller portions, but no we were just upcharged for getting both..fried rice extra when it comes with white rice..again no mention of up charge). 20% gratuity AND an alcohol tax AND non-cash payment added another $100 to our bill). We also had a coupon from the restaurant app to receive a free burger. Even though we made it well known to the server ahead of time and showed her the code verification she forgot to take it off plus charged the extra $2.50 for the fries. So the meal went from free (this person ordered a water) to $15.50. The food was all really good except for the prime rib sliders..little to no seasoning on the prime rib..Top picks..Loco moco, Kal-bi beef short ribs, burgers, Hawaiian pork and cabbage. Plates were $16-19 each. Burgers were $13/13.50. 1/2 lb boneless wings $11.Sodas and iced teas $4, beers were $7-9 for talls. We misplaced our receipt so we called to get a copy and explained our concern to Brendan. At first he wasn't understanding but at the end of the lengthy text conversation he offered to compensate us with a gift card for a return trip. He did in fact send the gift card...we will go back and give them another shot now we're informed how to order and ask if anything is extra?"

"Posting this review with sadness after hearing that Ruby and Ketchy's closed its doors last month (July 2024) On a final visit to Morgantown, we decided to have breakfast at an old diner built in the late 50's. Right off the roadway was Ruby and Ketchy's Restaurant, a little hole in the wall place that served good country style food. There was just one car in the parking lot and another one pulled in after us. Entering through an old front door, it's like you're back in the 60's. It's very roomy inside and the first thing you notice is the extensive wood paneling and Formica everywhere. There was an older gentleman having his coffee at the long bar and another gal, who was another employee having her breakfast. A friendly gal greeted us and said we could sit anywhere and we got a corner table and asked for coffee which arrived within a minute. We looked at the menu and went with the country fried steak, home fries and two eggs easy over. The food arrived piping hot within 15 minutes and I took a couple pics of it. Our waitress told me that I can't take a photo because not everything was served. She said that pancakes were coming and that would complete the meal. The pancakes were humongous and took over the entire plate. Everything was very good and I made a valiant effort to finish the pancakes but it was way too much food. We left with full stomachs and the price of our breakfasts were very reasonable so she got a nice tip. The service was great and the food was good and priced right. I wish I could say that I'd recommend trying out Ruby and Ketchy's but unfortunately they closed soon after. It must be tough keeping a family business going if no one wants to do the hard work. Wishing them the best of luck and a future of relaxing and health."
