"Oh my goodness, the Christmas prime rib at this restaurant is amazing! We both had the double cut and the flavor was excellent. It was incredibly tender and I really hope this restaurant stays open. Fun fact: you could have used a butter knife to cut through the prime rib. This is the only restaurant around that serves a decent dinner. We also tried the deep fried shrimp, but usually we stick to the double cut prime rib. They have a full bar, salad bar, and serve lunch and dinner. It's the best prime rib in Lake County, except for my wife Annitta's, who used to work at Lakeshore Inn for fourteen years and learned the cook's secret prime rib recipe. I have never tasted better prime rib, and I have tried a lot."

The food is decent, but the service is outstanding. The staff at this restaurant are some of the friendliest people I have encountered since moving to Lake County. It's hard to choose the nicest among them, as everyone I have met here has been kind and welcoming. View menu

It’s a simple restaurant and you would drive past it in a heart beat Im so glad I read these reviews in advance and took the chance to go. We were craving prime rib and theirs is excellent and the rice pilaf and even the humble green beens were perfect. Service was fast and kind and we owners who had been there for 40 years were so efficient and you could tell the locals felt like family. We loved the clam chowder soup of the day and the bread had a wonderful deep sourdough taste. The owners talked about retiring soon so I wouldn’t wait. A lovely spot.

"This is an edited review. I really hate giving less than 4 stars to any locally owned establishment. It must be a hard time to keep a business going these days but that doesn't mean you don't have to try to make good food or a good product. I am pregnant and I came in looking for something fresh and tasty. Figured even tho the Spot used to be known for their burgers that there's got to be a salad or a sandwich that could hit the spot. Well, the salads are pricey for what the choices and menu says, so I went with grilled chicken Pesto sandwich with side salad. Side salad had brown and wilted Lettuce, the chicken was overcooked, greasy and tough, way too much cheese and Pesto making the whole sandwich soggy and the bun held so much grease and oil that it was as flat as paper on the bottom. The once crisp Lettuce and tomato was completely wet and not edible. One of the worst sandwiches I have ever had. Service was extremely slow, they had one waitress/bartender/hostess/food runner working at Lunchtime on a Wednesday. Ice tea was old and couldn't drink it, and the water I got was in a tiny Dixie cup, I'm prego, a full glass of water wouldve been nice. My friends lemon drop was just bitter lemon, a ton of seeds and vodka, no simple syrup, no sugar rim, just ice water and vodka basically. His fries were ice cold. His tri tip sandwich was good however. This place used to be great 3 years ago but has let me down twice lately and is honestly a huge waste of time and money. Too bad options are slim and it's such a great location. I hope they set some standards for the food they send out soon. If the food was fresh and not overcooked, not greasy, and...edible... it would've been worth the long wait and the inexperinced bartending and poor service. review 3 years ago.... Amazing burgers, full bar, friendly and fast service, nice crowd, heat lamps for the outside patio, pet friendly. The Ultimate is arguably one of the best burger on the lake!"
