"As a local who enjoys exploring new restaurants in Vermont, I have to say this place ranks quite low on my list of experiences. Here are a few reasons why: First, we spent nearly 30 minutes waiting for a waitress to take our order, despite the fact that there was only one other customer in the restaurant. When the food finally arrived, it left much to be desired, especially considering the prices. We ordered Caesar salads, which came with an almost laughably small amount of dressing and were comparable in quality to something from Domino's. I also tried the calamari, but it was disappointing—soggy and accompanied by a sauce that wasn’t good at all. Overall, not worth the time or money."

The 2-inch strip steak came with thinly sliced peppers and onions, topped with chunks of blue cheese, alongside chunky mashed potatoes with onions and green beans. The service was fantastic, and it's a great place to gather!

If I was allowed to give more than 5 stars, I would. I'd give 5 stars to the food and 10 stars to the employees. The food was outstanding! I had the lamb and the blueberry venison. We had a reservation for 6 PM, but the diner closed at 6, so it was lucky that we arrived early. The fish and chips were fantastic! I ordered a bowl of clam chowder, which was perfect for me since I don't enjoy spicy food; it had a very mild flavor, just the way I like it. We also shared a crème brûlée, which was delicious as well.

Had dinner at the Scale House last night. From the moment we entered, we were treated like royalty...from the front of the house until we left. I had the lobster roll, the best I have ever had. Great cocktails, desserts and espresso! It is wonderful to have a high quality, affordable restaurant so close to home. Thank you Sven, Mark, Kerri and Don for a great dining experience!

I had dinner at this restaurant this evening and ordered the sole. I can honestly say it was the best sole I’ve ever had in my life—so tender it practically melted in my mouth. The grilled vegetables and rice served with it were cooked to perfection. They also have an impressive wine list and some unique craft cocktails. The scallops were simply exquisite—light, almost fluffy, and sweet. The service was excellent; Nicole (if I remember correctly) attended to our table wonderfully and was very attentive. The atmosphere was quite pleasant—quiet and inviting. The only disappointing aspect was the two boneless strip steaks, which were a bit dry and slightly overcooked for our taste. On a positive note, the broccoli was outstanding, but the mashed potatoes lacked flavor and were too chunky.

We had the best time at Scale House. The beer list is excellent we could have lapped up the cocktail sauce served with a remarkably good shrimp cocktail. The pasta with scallops lobster roll were delicious the lobster roll was among the best we’ve ever had. The fries were a fun bonus as they were perfect, crispy pillowy. Our server, Paul, was an absolute delight, friendly, competent earnest. Multiple staff members checked on us throughout the evening. We will return without question would recommend to all! This is just the place the area has needed, we can’t wait to go back.
