"A bit louder than we thought it would be. Small, railroad style dining room with brick walls definitely has noise reverberating back and forth from all parts of the restaurant. Calamari was okay, pasta dishes were good but nothing spectacular. One thing to note which they don’t seem to disclose up front is that the menu prices reflect a 3.99% cash discount, meaning that if you pay with a card, they are charging you nearly 4% more on your check. They had this surcharge on the check even before we could pay them with cash. They took it off the check when we said we were paying cash, but it just seems sneaky to have menu prices listing the cash price, then bring out a check with assumption people are paying with card and adding the surcharge. Overall good, but not likely we head back soon."

If you are looking for that small tucked away NY restaurant with great Italian food, this is not it.

the food wasn't really that good. I had the chicken milanese ? and it was so tough I just gave up trying to cut it after a certain point because it was exhausting. it's a good date spot because the people are nice and the ambiance is good.

The only issue is that their truffle heavy dishes waft through the main dining room and that can be overwhelming to those who don't like or don't prefer truffle flavored dishes. This place is a treasure with amazing food that is homemade, and comfy, sweet and classy ambiance. I only took 1 star off for service because the service was slow with the staff seeming overwhelmed. But overall this is a must go. Recommend mushroom pasta (OMG) and the carrots under veggie sides amazing. I get the same things every time the pasta is RICH and truffle and creamy with no dairy (except butter) and the pasta itself is homemade with tremendous bite. The carrots are cold and simply par cooked/pickled with parsley but they are utterly addictive.
