"Stumbled upon this unassuming restaurant last week. Have eaten there twice since. Great food, friendly service nostalgic environment. What seems like just a little ranch house with white siding is a cover for the blast back in time once you enter the front door. Impressive, massive, beautiful antique bar greets you. Vintage antique kitschy decor scattered on the walls and bar kept me entertained just looking at every nook and cranny. The dining room with bentwood chairs with red white checkered tablecloths remind me of the original Buddy ‘s Pizza in Detroit. Now on to the food- The awesome burger truly is awesome. Cooked perfectly and full of toppings. We were fortunate enough to get the last order of crab cakes they did not disappoint! HUGE chunks of crab absolutely delicious. Rueben sandwich had shaved corned beef vs giant thick slices which I loved. Homemade Clam chowder is the best I’ve ever had. You can taste the love it’s made with I bet it’s a 100 year old recipe it’s that good. Can’t wait to go back and try the French onion soup everyone raves about."

Great local spot. We came with family who had been dying to show us the spot. I loved the atmosphere, its full of art and tchotchkes from the decades it's been around, red leather booths, stained glass lamp shades, and a table only for chess players. As if the atmosphere wasn't enough the drinks are tall and stiff, the husband and wife team are delightful, and the menu is full of comforting classics executed very well. Can't recommend this place enough.

I live in Chicago, and my family has always adored liver and onions. My mother made an outstanding version, and after she passed away, my father and I embarked on a quest to find the best liver and onions, especially in the western suburbs and beyond. So, you can imagine my delight when I stumbled upon this charming little restaurant in Ohio on a Wednesday and found a liver and onions special. It was the best I've ever had! Be sure to order the two pieces, or you'll regret it later! Plus, the ambiance is lovely.

We love and visit this place often, but only tried to go there and had the worst service! Immigrated and stood while two female employees just stared at us for about ten minutes. They finally decided to move motivated enough and tell us that it would wait a 45 minutes because they no longer have tables. Funny thing was on the front room there was another couple eating at a table and we are four tables in the same room. There were also four cars in the parking lot. Very frustrating if it just looks like people don't want to do their jobs and we had to get kids out of car seats to get a big attitude. Don't think we're back. It is a shame that they have good food and usually have a very friendl... View menu

This is the best small family restaurant in Newark! The staff was attentive, the decorations were impressive, and the food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the ham and bean soup with cornbread, and the beans were seasoned perfectly, packed with plenty of ham. For dessert, I had the bread pudding with cream sauce, which was simply amazing—just perfect. I learned that it was a recipe that's been passed down for 100 years. My friends tried the pork chops, and they were exceptionally seasoned—so tender that you could cut them with a table knife. They also had the peanut butter cake for dessert and claimed it was the best cake they had ever tasted. The restaurant closes for a few months after...

"On Wednesday 12/06 I went to Banzai Sushi, I have never received such bad service in my life… Every time I remember my experience, I get angry, the waitress is rude and has a horrible attitude! It's a shame because the food there is wonderful, but the service is so SO BAD that I lost my appetite. When I got there, there was some water spilled on the table, she took my stepfather's DIRTY NAPKIN to clean it and just left it there. When I asked for things she responded with an ignorant, rude tone. My partner doesn't eat any type of animal protein other than shrimp. So we asked if we could replace the salmon with shrimp in a poke, she checked in the kitchen and said everything was fine. When she came back, I placed my order and she was doing something at the other table, but said to continue because she was listening….my partner also talking about swapping salmon for shrimp at the end and the waitress replies “so it's not like that at all what you want, is something different” and simply left leaving us talking to the wall. When our order arrived, my order came out wrong. I called her and she simply replied “BUT ALSO, WITH HER MAKING ALL THIS MESS WITH SALMON AND SHRIMP…”, sorry, but for me that was the end of the bite. It's okay to get the order wrong, I know it happens, but blaming the customer? Every time she passed by our table I saw her making faces and looking at the kitchen. I thought it was a huge lack of respect, we are paying customers. On top of that, it also includes a 15% tip. Normally, if I receive good service, I will give 20%, after all, I work in customer service and value professionals in my field. And if the service was just bad, I wouldn't bother coming here to report it... But it was horrible"
