"The day we arrived in Baltimore we were walking around Fell 's Point trying to decide where to go for lunch, when we spotted on the side of a building the words, Eat Bertha 's Mussels and thought that was an excellent suggestion. My husband had the mussels and fries, and I ordered the baked potato with shrimp and crab. It was absolutely delicious, and extremely filling. We happened to drop in for lunch at the right time, as it started POURING rain, and there was even a tornado warning. We were sitting near the entrance, and it was pretty cool watching the rain. The next day we want back to Bertha 's for lunch and we ordered the crab cakes and crab dip. I recommend Bertha 's as long as you 're not concerned about calories, however I didn 't care for any of the drinks I ordered, as they were far too sweet.[Yelp collections: East Coast 2022; Baltimore, MD 2022]"

This place is not for those of us who prefer DC type of restaurant. I can appreciate a good dipable or hole in the wall, but I also expect hole in the wall...

We are so sad that Bertha’s is closing. We have been coming here for 40 years. Our visits have ranged from a quick beer to full meals. Their mussels are the best. View menu

If you're a fan of mussels, you absolutely have to try Bertha's. We enjoyed the spinach garlic buttermilk mussels, along with the crab bath and fried oysters. I highly recommend it!

The first time here and a big fan! Great service and amazing seafood. I have to try some items on the menu and it was all really delicious. Definitely on the place and filled my seafood desire!

I also tried the oyster Po'boy for $18, which didn’t come with any fries—the fries were an extra $4 and served cold. To top it all off, while I was sitting at the bar, a dog came over, and the bartender, who also served food, took care of the dog while I was trying to eat. Overall, my experience fell far short of my expectations. View menu

I am newish to Baltimore and have been wanting to explore this restaurant. I decided to check it out during Fells Point Fun Festival (so they were pretty busy). Service was a bit slow, but I understand it was full of customers. However, there were a few disappointing things. The mussels were pretty dry with a very small amount of buttery sauce on the bottom of the bowl. It was also on the colder side by the time we were served. The crab bruschetta was soggy and had very minimal pieces of crab (2 tiny pieces per toast). The crab and chicken quesadilla was very good. I 'm disappointed that the other meals were not, especially given the prices. The Irish coffee and hot toddy were also disappoin...

When I stepped through the swinging door of Bertha's Bar, all I wanted was a relaxing Saturday afternoon—a cozy spot to write, a great beer, and the best mussels ever. Thankfully, I got exactly that! I started with a Guinness and the Old Bay mussels, and I was so impressed that I couldn't even finish them on my own, so I invited some friends to help out. The portion of mussels could easily serve three or four people as an appetizer. Make sure you really get the Old Bay seasoning because it's fantastic! The mussels are generously coated in Old Bay, which pairs beautifully with the warmth of the Guinness. The ambiance of the bar, including the guy who won't stop talking about sports, creates a...

"Highly recommend Sweet Peaz Southern Kitchen! The food is served fresh and hot. We were a party of eight and ordered Fried Whiting with Yams and Mac n Cheese, Chicken and Waffles, Fried Chicken Wings, Chicken Tenders, Fried Shrimp, French Fries, and Collard Greens. The Sweet Potato Waffles were absolutely delicious! The fried chicken, shrimp, and fish were cooked perfectly and tasted as good as they looked. The seasoning was just right—not too salty, allowing the flavors to shine. The yams and collards were a real treat for the taste buds. And the cornbread? Simply amazing. My only disappointment was that the first taste was free (haha). The Mac n Cheese was decent, but the Chicken Tenders didn’t quite live up to their name; however, they did remake them for us to take home. The space is small and simple, with old-school music that adds to the enjoyable dining experience. They limit dining to one hour to ensure everyone can enjoy the food, which I appreciate—I dislike when people linger for too long when others are waiting. The staff were friendly, making us feel valued and appreciated. Prices are reasonable. One downside was that many items were unavailable, including grits—which was a big letdown since I was looking forward to the famous Shrimp and Grits—as well as butter, potato salad, seafood salad, and tartar sauce. I recommend calling ahead if you’re craving a specific dish. Despite this, it was a great dining choice and lived up to the positive reviews. Overall, we left satisfied and would gladly return. Parking is street parking only, as there’s no dedicated lot."
