"I haven't been to this restaurant in a few years, but I used to go frequently 20 years ago before I had kids. Even with a change of ownership (maybe twice?), our experience last night was exceptional, just like before. It was a wonderful coincidence that they seated us at a table for 6 with a padded bench where my baby girl used to sleep years ago while my husband and I enjoyed a lovely dinner. The food and service were superb. My husband had the pork special and I had the filet, both of which were delicious. Our guests also loved their meals. I still love the bookstore ambience that remains. One of the sous chefs brought out portions of our meal and she was delightful to talk to. The employees all seemed very happy with their work, which translated to outstanding hospitality. We will definitely be back! Now that we are empty nesters, I think we have found our new favorite restaurant."

We always love the Hartwood. Great food. Lovely atmosphere. And family owned. The cottage pie is always yummy but boy did I enjoy the goat cheese and fruit and berry salad!! Can't wait to go back

Quiet, upscale restaurant with a great food selection. Great selection of wines and liquors. The bar is is quiet and friendly. The cheese plate had a really good selection of cheeses and meats with homemade, smoked chorizo and patte'.

Restaurant is nice as was our 4 person table. The waiter was patient and never rushed us. Answered all our questions and was just the right amount of attentive. Food was very good. Three of us had Cottage Pie and the fourth had couscous with shrimp.

Building was very interesting as there were many different rooms including a balcony space up stairs with a private table, a library with a few tables, and two other rooms along with a bar and regular dining room and a lot of outdoor patio space. Very enjoyable restaurant with exceptional ambiance and delicious foods. The drinks were generous and tasty. The servers were prompt and pleasant. I loved being able to be outside in the fresh air. I was there at an off time which I'm sure contributed toan enjoyable experience. I highly recommend checking it out and taking your favorite date here.

For a restaurant called Whispers... it is loud in there. The food, however was phenomenal! We started with the croquettes and meatball appetizers. Both were fantastic. For the main course, I had the chèvre ravioli while my wife had the swordfish special. The risotto was a little under-seasoned, but the flavor of the fish more than made up for that. My ravioli was out of this world!
