"I came into the restaurant for an event with a large group and the serving staff was very accommodating. However I can sense that the culture there was shady. On my way to the restroom I witness a white manager talk extremely harshly to one one of the black servers with dreadlock hair and he looked distraught shortly after I went to inquire of his name and the manager's name is Ryan. when I asked to speak with the server that was being spoken to unfairly I was informed that he has left for the evening. which is odd considering it was shortly after 7 pm. so my guess is that he was probably fired. I pulled another server to the side and asked how is his treatment here. I will leave that person nameless because I know it's a tough market to find a job and I don't want this individual to lose his job. but this server is white and insinuated that management can appear prejudice. that there is a high turnover that he himself is leaving the industry to chase his passions that most recently two servers left all for the same reason morale. while I don't know the pressures of being African American in the workforce but I am ashamed of my race as a whole I hope that young man can find a good fit. and I will not be spending my dollars in that place. there's plenty of steakhouses in the city of Houston. do NOT spend your money at Morton'syou can see the entire kitchen from the dining room as it is an open face kitchen. They're not gluten or pork sensitive friendly there as they fry everything in one fryer. The price point is the same all over town so if you want to treat yourself to a steak night. I'd go to the new hip steakhouses around town. Perry's Brenan's B&B, Morton's all old school. like a retirement home. no singles, no exciting happy hour, when you walk in there it's like a mortuary. youre not really excited to spend money there. don't even get me started about their cocktails. If im spending 20$ for a cocktail I at least would not like my drink free poured. please measure your drinks to insure consistency. That place is a prejudicial zoo."
