"This is usually one of my first stops in San Francisco, however, this last visit was not good at all. Most importantly, the quality of food has gone down. I have always ordered the crab sandwich and this time it tasted more like mayonnaise than crab. The half order of Dungeness crab was small and rather fishy. On a positive note, the fries were fantastic. Our server didn’t even acknowledge us to take our drink order for 15 minutes after being seated. We were not served bread until our meal arrived. I hope the restaurant and our server were just having an off day because I would hate to completely write off this restaurant."

Pompei's Grotto is not as fancy as some of the other restaurants on Fisherman's Wharf but the food is delicious and the service was great! We celebrated my husband's birthday there and had a wonderful time.

We were eating late and were among the last customers of the night. There was no feeling of pressure to hurry and the staff was wonderfully helpful with recommendations. The food was delicious! We would definitely return.

I absolutely loved the food and the service at this restaurant! I highly recommend it. My daughter got the Alfredo Fettuccini, which was very creamy and delicious. My sister ordered the Lasagna, and it was fantastic! I had the Clams and linguini with a wine and garlic sauce, and it was amazing!
