"Not my kind of place. Bar /tavern side had shrieking, raucous customers on a day when no one around. Really a tasting menu, teeny plates, teeny portions, poor value. Waitress told me that the green peppers in my mussel soup were mild- they were not and had to spit out with my mouth on fire. Truly embarassing when I was being treated. They did give me asparagus instead. Their only vegetable. They did not notice that my water glass was empty and I had to request it. Backless benches to sit on in the tavern/ bar area but you can request an uncomfortable chair. Not a place if you eat high healthy protein and veggies like I do. I do not like to leave a restaurant feeling bloated with too much food but neither do I want to leave hungry. Their coffee was good after the meal."

Amazing experience from the staff, ambience and the food was thoughtful, fresh, inventive and I want to go back for the vegetable gnocchi immediately.

Really great experience! We will be back soon. I wish they were open for lunch. My only complaint was the choice of music, which was a little strange for this environment. View menu

On Mother's Day, the menu was ridiculously limited with very small portions and expensive options. The chicken dish that 2 of the people in our group had ordered was not enough to feed a child !! The decor is very good, but you need to expand your selection even when you are not on vacation.

Walt 's Wharf is traditionally our go-to restaurant when we head to Seal Beach to celebrate an anniversary, a graduation, or just satisfy our desire for quality sea food! Today 's meal consisted of Mixed Seafood Grill Fish Chips to share among the three of us for dinner. It was yet another terrific memorable late lunch courtesy of Walt 's!

4 plates divided. Scallops cooked perfectly, sauce not very aromatic, chased the small amount of peas around the plate. Beet platter was good. Tuna poke had strings of supposedly kelp salad, fries were sparse and not wasabi powder. If more chips were requested, the answer was "not sure but will be checked". Return with 4 chips. It seemed rather strange that the smoked bluefish and avocado toast was served with bluefish on one toast and avocado on the other. View menu

Flavor of food was between ok and good, nothing special. I had higher expectations after seeing reviews. I ordered a pasta dish with sausage. I appreciate the pasta, sauce and sausage all being homemade, but I was disappointed when the dish arrived with 3 small bites of sausage. I ordered a cocktail that arrived weak and mostly ice in the equivalent of a juice glass. When the waitress observed I drank it in a few sips, I asked for another, but without ice. What I got was an 8oz glass of milk with a shot of Kahlua in it. Not a way to impress. I just wanted a good drink.

Near the wharf this is an easy place to find and if very well worth entering. The place is warm, beach and old wood sthrough-out. The staff were friendly and efficient. Cocktails and wine served and enjoyed. We shared a shrimp cocktail and were impressed by the presentation and quality, fresh, not frozen. This is a great starter. We both ordered the Chiopino and we're not disappointed. The highlite was a half lobster tail on top but actually, the soup and the fish and clams were our favorite as it seemed to be a bit over the top. This is a comfort food that is overlooked by many because they have never had it before. Trust me, it is worth every penny and you will thank me for the experience.
